·Γιορτη Κρασιού

The Wine Festival New Aghialos an institution for the region, since it was first organized in 1960, where ever there was mirth, Excitement and fun, similar to that which existed days of harvest in Aghialos Eastern Rumelia. Passion for growing viticulture, remains the most important common cultural aspect of Old and New Aghialou. Continuing this tradition is organized Aghialou New Wine Festival every August, attracting many visitors from Volos and the region of Thessaly, in a place really nice and welcoming, δίπλα στην θάλασσα.

All guests of the Festival, προσφέρεται δωρεάν παγωμένο κρασί από τον Αγροτικό Παραγωγικό Συνεταιρισμό Νέας Αγχιάλου «Η ΔΗΜΗΤΡΑ».

The program of the event includes Greek nights entertainment by local artists , island songs, traditional - folk song , αλλά και σύγχρονες λαϊκές επιτυχίες.

For many decades, the residents of New Aghialou have developed important links with the city of their origin, the old Anchialo Eastern Rumelia, the current Pomorie Bulgaria and each year during the Festival hosted a delegation from the municipality of Pomorie Bulgaria

·Θεατρικές Παραστάσεις

With ten rise of amateur theater group New Aghialos, Today I am happy to say that the effort was completed successfully and that the bet was won. This theatrical activity has been recorded in the cultural conditions of our municipality and has become deeply rooted in our society, so every year we all waiting for the new project of our theater group. This indicates, also, that small communities are able, with appropriate assistance from the Municipal Authority, mobilize forces that are willing to support such cultural activities, sometimes causing surprise for’ αυτές τις δυνατότητές τους ακόμη και στους ίδιους τους συμμετάσχοντες σε αυτές τις προσπάθειες.

·Χορωδιακό Φεστιβάλ

Επί 17 consecutive years, place the Choral Festival of New Aghialou. Οι χορωδιακές συναντήσεις στη πόλη της Νέας Αγχιάλου αποτελούν κορυφαίο πολιτιστικό γεγονός και για την περιοχή της Μαγνησίας.
Faithful, Choral music lovers will flock back to theater, behind the Town Hall, the standard space of many and diverse quality events, to enjoy the local ,αλλά και τις προσκεκλημένες χορωδίες.

The Municipal Choir of New Anchialos prepare each year a completely renewed and attractive repertoire defending the good Greek Choral Music, wanting to renew their musical taste and interest choirs and audience, αποκτώντας εμπειρίες αλλά προπάντων συναισθήματα.

·Democratic Nights

Κάθε χρόνο κατά την καλοκαιρινή περίοδο διοργανώνονται λαικές βραδιές στη Νέα Αγχίαλο και στα τοπικά διαμερίσματα Μικροθηβών κι Αϊδινίου με της παρουσία του τοπικού χορευτικού μας συγκροτήματος και συνοδεία ντόπιων μουσικών καλλιτεχνών.

Traditional Activities

During the course of time the New Agchialos tried not to alienate its character and vibrancy which governs. Οι ντόπιοι κάτοικοι διατειρούν τις παραδοσιακές τεχνικές και μυστικά της παραγωγής κρασιού και τσίπουρου που έχει μεταδοθεί από γενιά σε γενιά από τον ξεριζωμό των παλιών πατρίδων της Ανατολικής Ρωμυλίας.

·Celebration Holocaust Anchialos

Commemorations of the anniversary of the Holocaust Aghialos the Bulgarians, performed in 30 July 1906, that marked the creation of today's New Aghialos in Magnesia. As part of the events celebrated memorial on site of Fallen Heros, in Central Square, New Anchialos plaisionontai and events with local dance band and other bands on katagomenoun Eastern Rumelia with tunes and dances of the region

·Festival of traditional dances

For many years, place in New Anchialo Festival of Traditional Dances with the participation of the local dance group and the participation of many Greek Dance Groups

Folk Traditions

The Agchialos has several interesting morals and during years. Some of the intriguing traditions is the "office," the best man , wetting the groom ,the treadle and Sourva the New Year , three-day, etc.,

·Το «αξίωμα» του κουμπάρου

When making wreaths "values" the best man. Friends and acquaintances are ending dance of Isaiah and his voice sounded "worthy" ,best man raises his hands and forced him fix something as they used to say, to promise to do something for friends,   συνήθως ένα καλό γλέντι.

·Το βρέξιμο του γαμπρού

·Το ποδαρικό και η σούρβα

In Anchialo , except carols ,children did odd jobs and said the Sourva. On the day of the New Year of dawn began boys with an olive branch in hand for treadle . Banged in the olive branch is usually one to one individuals of the group , usually went to famous houses so for good as they used to say. A child that would make omen was a boy to be healthy and be gourlis. Το φιλοδώρημα από το έθιμο ήταν υψηλό .Το έθιμο αυτό το έφεραν οι Αγχιαλίτες από τη παλιά τους πατρίδα και συνεχίζεται μέχρι σήμερα.

·Τα τριήμερα

An old tradition is the three-day New Anchialo. Είναι καθαρά γυναικεία εκδήλωση και γίνεται τη Τετάρτη μετά τη Καθαρή Δευτέρα με τη συνοδεία λαϊκών οργάνων.

Στην Νέα Αγχίαλο δεν εκδίδονται εφημερίδες αλλά εκδίδονται στο Βόλο και στον Αλμυρό με στόχο την ενημέρωση των πολιτών για τα νέα του νομού Μαγνησίας.

Olive-Oil

The N.Anchialos , thanks to its temperate climate and topography produces oil and olives are of excellent quality. Many farmers have embraced the acres in organic farming. Beneficial properties of olive oil have been known for many years that's why farmers in the region are trying . Το ελαιόλαδο θεωρείται αναπόσπαστο συστατικό της μεσογειακής διατροφής.

Raki-Ouzo

Ouzo is traditionally and exclusively in Greece ,belongs to the general category of alcoholic beverages flavored unequal.'s the distillate marc and other sugary raw materials , που έχουν αρωματιστεί με σπόρους άνισου .

Raki is generally pure distillate marc any scenting . Raki is colorless and has a high degree of alcohol drunk and so almost always usually diluted with water. Είναι γνωστό σ’ όλους ότι η Μαγνησία έχει πολύ καλό τσίπουρο και τσιπουράδικα όπου σερβίρουν εξαιρετικούς μεζέδες.

The Agchialos has enough morals and interests during the year. Some traditions are <αξίωμα > του κουμπάρου , wetting the groom ,the treadle and Sourva the New Year , three-day, etc.,

The three-day

Ένα παλιό έθιμο είναι τα τριήμερα στη Νέα Αγχίαλο .Είναι καθαρά γυναικεία εκδήλωση και γίνεται τη Τετάρτη μετά τη Καθαρή Δευτέρα με τη συνοδεία λαϊκών οργάνων.

Also in New Anchialo there are two football clubs:

• “The PYRASOS” με έτος ίδρυσης το 1952 and important distinctions participation inD’ National, where he finished in fourth place in the period 2010-11 andwinning the Cup EPSTHon 10 March 2010. Σήμερα αγωνίζεται στην Α Τοπική Κατηγορία.
•  ”the Athletic Club of New Aghialos ” FTHIOTIDES THEBES-ANHIALOS” με έτος ίδρυσης το 2008 and athletes exclusively from the region. Currently playing in VTopiki Division.

The Anchialos not previously called Agchialos but Fthiotides Thebes. This name is known the two ancient cities of Magnesia ,One is located near the village Mikrothives , πάνω στο δρόμο Βόλου-Αλμυρού και η άλλη βρίσκεται στη Νέα Αγχίαλο.

The second one was called Fthiotides Thebes built where there was in ancient times the city Pyrasos, όπου έχουμε αναφορά στον Στράβωνα .Η θέση της επιβεβαιώθηκε από ανασκαφικές έρευνες που έγιναν το 1907.

Through an excavation proved that the low hill to the east of New Aghialou was the citadel of Pyrassou. The findings of the masonry remains of successive settlements and mainly pottery , belong to the classical , in the geometric, Halki , Middle Helladic and Neolithic. The area still existed and following centuries, but also had another name Demetrius. "Its harbor was vital as was used in the export and import trade of Thessaly. Was destroyed and she 217 x by Philip. During the 2nd century AD reaches its peak level in culture until the end of 7 century. So the product designated < Christian Theban> .

The excavations revealed ten important monuments which are the following: the acropolis of Pyrasou , the basilica of Hope ( Royal B) ,complex of public buildings and purchases , the episcopal palace ,the basilica of Saint Demetrios ( A royal ') ,the hypocaust bath west of the royal ,paved boulevard with shops – < embolos > east of the royal, gymnasium and bath south of the basilica and the basilica of Bishop Peter ( Royal C) που είναι το μεγαλύτερο και πιο ενδιαφέρον μνημείο της περιοχής.

Royal D-St. Demetriou

The Basilica of St. Cerium located southeast of the current market off the highway. Particularly characteristic is the formation of the atrium and cross proktismaton , baptistery and sacristy . The very rich sculptural architectural decoration , characterized by high quality. Χρονολογείται από το 2ο μισό του 5ου αιώνα βορειοδυτικά της βασιλικής Α΄ .

Basilica B-Bishop Hopes

The Basilica of Bishop hope lies off the highway to Volos , below the citadel over the harbor . Τρίκλιτη βασιλική με νάρθηκα , patio and proktismata. Excavation became the 1928-1929. Further excavations were conducted 1960-1972. Seem to have repairs done as evidenced by the inscription found on the patio and donor reports as the deacon Stephen . The same inscription mentions the name of Bishop Hopes ( 1 the half of the 6th century x) από την οποία χαρακτηρίζεται και η βασιλική.

Royal C-Bishop Peter

The Basilica of Bishop Peter is behind the market next to the highway to Salty and occupies the entire block is the largest and most important monument that have been discovered in New Anchialo. The excavation continued by P.Lazaridi. The decoration is of particular interest as it is rich in marble architectural and decorative mural , mosaics and frescoes. Από το όνομα του Αρχιερέως Πέτρου που αναγράφηκε σε ανακαινιστική επιγραφή του νοτίου τείχους χαρακτηρίστηκε όλο το συγκρότημα ΄Βασιλική του Αριερέως Πέτρου΄ .

Royal D

The royal cemetery located outside the wall ,at the western end of New Aghialou . Τρίκλιτη βασιλική με νάρθηκα , patio and proktismata. excavated the 1934-1936. Η βασιλική χρονολογείται μεταξύ του 5ου -6ου αιώνα μ.Χ.

Royal E

Located outside the walls dated to the 5th-6th century AD. Hypocaust in 100 x. southeast of the basilica with mosaic floors Martyrdom. Κτίριο παλαιοχριστιανικής εποχής.

Royal F

Βρίσκεται δίπλα στο αστυνομικό τμήμα της Νέας Αγχιάλου .Κατά τη διάρκεια της ανασκαφικής έρευνας αποκαλύφθηκε η ένατη κατά σειρά βασιλική στο κέντρο της πόλης .Χρονολογείται πιθα�Aisled basilica with narthex/p>

Royal Martyrdom

The Royal Tabernacle is located at Stavridis to the vegetable garden to the south of New Agxialos. Aisled basilica with narthex , built on the ruins of oldest buildings , probably in the 4th century BC. In the sanctuary of the royal rescued a built base of the altar , το κιβωτιόσχημο εγκαίνιο και τμήμα του σύνθρονου .Χαρακτηριστικοί είναι οι οκτάπλευροι κιονίσκοι του φράγματος του Πρεσβυτερίου .

Aisled chapels

Revealed in 1982 private plot ,dated the 3rd-4th century x and served for the religious needs

Baptistery

The discovered vaptistiriopou 1983, south of the atrium of the Basilica of Bishop Petroutheoreitai unique in Greece. In the center is octagonal baptistery. Impressive marble floor. The so-called Episcopal Palace is 100 m. δυτικά της βασιλικής του Αγίου Δημητρίου .

Complex Public Buildings

The residents of New Anchialos were refugees from Eastern Rumelia Anchialo ( Today Bulgaria).They came to Greece after the destruction of their homeland in 1906.To holocaust New Anchialos coup was the result of the occupation of Eastern Rumelia by the Bulgarian army in 1885.Afto fact worsened the Greek-Bulgarian relations and revolutionized the entire Greek population of Thrace and Macedonia. Since summer 1906 the anti-Greek pogroms took large proportions throughout the region. Occurred by destroying Greek educational and ecclesiastical institutions and culminated with the destruction of the Aghialou 30 Ιουλίου του 1906.

The Anchialites to save abandoned their homeland the Black Sea, which had a continuous life from the foundation of , it 540 BC. Κατέφυγαν στην Ελλάδα.

Under 1906-1907 lived as refugees in Athens. were elected there a committee, constituted as follows Anchialites: G.Tsakiris ,president , Alexander K. Mavromatis ,Paraskevas V.Drakopoulos ,

Michael Tsitsinias ,George Mavratzis ,Georgios Diamantopoulos , etc.. Many Anchialites supports an installed partially in various cities of Greece , eventually prevailed opinion to gather everyone in a neighborhood so there is a plate with the name of the old country ,Αγχίαλος ,γιατί διαφορετικά θα έσβηνε το όνομα της.

The location was on a main road east coast and in memory of their old homeland. This area was still owned by P.Topali who lived then stop Blue Romania. OD Topalis from families Anchialiton willing to sell the property. Η τιμή ήταν 2.000.000.δρχ.,το ποσό αυτό το κατέβαλε η κυβέρνηση και κατόπι οι Αγχιαλίτες το ξόφλησαν μέσω του Γεωργικού Θεσσαλικού Ταμείου.

Μετά την αγορά του κτήματος και την εγκατάσταση των Αγχιαλιτών το μεγαλύτερο πρόβλημα ήταν η ελονοσία και η αιματουρία από τις οποίες προσβάλλονταν οι κάτοικοι .Επειδή η Νοτιοδυτική περιοχή της Νέας Αγχιάλου ήταν βαλτώδης και στα νερά των βάλτων υπήρχαν μολυσμένα κουνούπια και οι αρρώστιες αυτές προκάλεσαν το θάνατο πολλών κατοίκων Παράλληλα υπήρχε η ανέχεια και η πείνα και πολλοί έπαιρναν τις οικογένειες&nbsp;τους και έφευγαν. Alloiepestrefan to their old homeland ,όπου ιδρύθηκε μι�Anchialos� Αγχίαλος ή Ίνγκλις όπως την ονόμαζαν.

Another problem faced by the residents were drinking water was unhealthy. Το 1909 κατασκευάστηκε το υδραγωγείο.

Το 1912 founded the first community N.Anchialou Office headed by Ralli A. Ράλλη.

Το 1953 ανοικοδομήθηκε το κτίριο για το Κοινοτικό Γραφείο κοντά στο λιμανάκι.

Το 1954 ανοικοδομήθηκε το κτίριο του αστυνομικού σταθμού από εισπράξεις μεγάλου χορού που έγινε στην πλατεία.

Το 1910 built the first Primary School which was destroyed in 1943 από τους Ιταλούς.

Το 1935 was constructed airport (111 Am) το οποίο βοήθησε σημαντικά στην ανάπτυξη �It� τόπου οικονομικά και κοινωνικά .

According to testimonies, Anchialites significantly helped in the liberation struggles of the nation 1821 giving their lives, typical examples are Eugene boatloads as Patriarch Gregory V where hanged. During 1912 to 1922 Anchialites fought for the liberation of the nation ,sometimes giving their lives. In addition to the Epic of 1940 Anchialites many gave their lives. Μετάαπό όλες τις κακουχίες και τα δεινά που υπέστησαν οι Αγχιαλίτες δε δίστασαν και συμμετείχαν και στην Εθνική Αντίσταση όπου πολλοί πήραν μεττάλιο ανδρείας.

Today the population has Anchialos 7.423 residents and August 1994 ανακηρύχθηκε σε δήμο.
