Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion

The Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion is housed in Topali, which was built in 1844 σύμφωνα με την χρονολογία που είναι χαραγμένη στο λιθανάγλυφο υπέρθυρο της εισόδου.

It is a three-story mansion, representative sample of classical architecture from, as it stood at the end of the first half of the last century. It is a stone for the most part except for the southern portion of the roof, που είναι κατασκευασμένο από τσατμά.

Environmental Education Center Makrinitsas

In-house Vatsarea Mavrakis operates the Center for Environmental Education (CEE) Makrinitsa, one of the 40 such centers operating in Greece under the supervision of the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs. Οιστόχοιthe center is: information, education, awareness and enable students of Primary and Secondary Education, teachers and general visitors and tourists from Greece and abroad in the area of Pelion in protecting the environment, ecological balance, sustainable development and general acquaintance with the rich natural environment of the area. a) The grandmother remembers pilioreitissa…Pasang herbs for disease,

b) Tourist routes in nature and tradition of Pelion village,

c) A Day at the Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion,

Other activitiesτου Κ.Π.Ε. is that it develops partnerships with governmental and non-governmental bodies, international organizations or foreign counterparts who have common goals, συμμετέχει και στηρίζει προσπάθειες για την προστασία του περιβάλλοντος και αναπτύσσει συνεργασίες με επιστημονικά Ιδρύματα στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό.

Theofilos

The Theofilos born around 1868 in Varia Mytilene. Travelling in search of work reaches Volos and Pelion in 1899 about, where it remains 30 years. Theophilus painting in the city of Volos, mainly in cafes, taverns, Chania and the surrounding villages in Volos mansions, churches and shops. In Pelion paint the cafe, that bears his name and dates 1910, on the east wall to the right of the entrance a mural dimensions 3,15 x 2,50 themed Katsantoni, Tzumerka. Η ζωγραφική σύνθεση αναπαριστά ένα γλέντι του πρωτοκλέφτη Κατσαντώνη με τα παλληκάρια του σ’ ένα ορεινό τοπίο.

H Makrynitsa reached its peak in the 18th and 19th century., it 1881 when it became the seat of the former municipality Makrinitsas. The urban organization is based on’ a basic cobblestone pedestrian “backbone”, starting from’ Koukourava in altitude 300 μ. and reaches up to an altitude Kakouna 800 μ. A second paved road leads to the mry last house on the most remote district. In the village center, the large paved square in altitude 630 measures shaded by huge plane trees, adorned’ the unique water fountain (1809) διακοσμημένη με πλούσια λιθανάγλυφα.

Μέσα από την επικοινωνία με τους απλούς ανθρώπους, ανακαλύπτει κανείς το αληθινό πρόσωπο της Μακρινίτσας. Η ανάπτυξη του τουρισμού δεν αποτέλεσε αιτία για την αλλοτρίωση του χαρακτήρα τους, ούτε για την εγκατάλειψη παραδοσιακών δραστηριοτήτων. Οι ντόπιοι παράγουν το κρασί και το τσίπουρο με τον τρόπο που έμαθαν από τους πατεράδες και τους παππούδες τους. Υπάρχουν [...]

Cultural Activities

Since 1991 and every summer 15 July to 30 September organized by the Community of cultural events under the name Makrynitsa (and the corresponding year) with exhibitions, photography, sculpture, with theatrical performances, concerts with traditional Greek music and singing and leading event presenting the folk custom “Μάηδες”.
The tourism development Makrinitsas begins the decade 1960, when residents realize they must retain their character, to promote their special, τα ήθη και τα έθιμα τους.
Their concerns are finding a way out through the “Progressive Association Makrinitsas”, reviving the unique folk custom “Μάηδες” and setting up of the Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion. The great cultural intervention that led the Community in the early 1990 στην διοργάνωση πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων που καθιερώθηκαν και η φήμη τους απλώθηκε στον ελλ�Maidesώρο και τον ξεπέρασε.
