    The tourism development Makrinitsas begins the decade 1960, when residents realize they must retain their character, to promote their special, τα ήθη και τα έθιμα τους.
    Their concerns are finding a way out through the “Progressive Association Makrinitsas”, reviving the unique folk custom “Μάηδες” and setting up of the Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion.
