The Agchialos formerly called Fthiotides Thebes.This name is known the two ancient cities in Magnesia . The one where coastal stretches at New Aghialou founded in 1906 residents of refugees from the then Anchialo Eastern Rumelia, city with a rich cultural heritage. The existence of another city we all speak the remains found in a hillside village Mikrothives ,which is known from excavations carried out by the 1907 far.
The city of New Aghialou just 19 km from Volos with easy access as the city is built on the road Athinon-Thes/kis. A city with a rich cultural heritage during the early Christian period to the end of the 7th century.
