Anchialos

Origin placename:

The name derived from Anchialos intention anchi, which means close, near and word-als alos means sea. Anchialos is the coastal town.

Brief Chronology:

The built in Anchialos 1906 from, chased from Bulgarian chauvinists, residents of Eastern Rumelia Aghialou. Origin placename:

The village is built on the hillside "Castle" and was named by Fthiotides Thebes, the ruins of which are located in. The old, Turkish name Akitsi or Akita, due to a Turk who had the manor there.
