Responsibilities of the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning, Employment and Culture

• Department of Education
  • It provides for the maintenance, improvement, cleaning and storage of the logistical infrastructure of the national primary and secondary education system and provides all necessary administrative support to the School Committees for their operation and for the exercise of their responsibilities.
  • It cooperates with the Municipal Education Committee and provides it with all necessary administrative support for its operation.
• Department of Lifelong Learning
  • Ensures the design and implementation of lifelong learning programs in the context of relevant national and regional programming, in accordance with the legislation in force.
• Competences of Culture
  • It undertakes the granting of licenses for the establishment and operation of private music institutions (conservatories, music schools, choirs, symphonic orchestras and chamber music ensembles), in accordance with the provisions in force.
