DIMINI

To the west of the city of Volos and just 3 km. from Dimini is here 200 years the settlement of Paliouri. It is a traditional village, between mountains, which is built entirely of stone, and which was developed in the 19th century to the mid 20th century. The cultivable land amounts to 15 000 square feet. The main crops are olives, pear, vines and cereals. Also evolving livestock.
All buildings Paliouri, except seven buildings constructed after the earthquake of 1955-57, are constructed and roofed with stones from the area. The wood used for the roofs and windowsills (chestnut and fir), comes mainly from Pelion. Paliouri not thrive chestnut. The technicians who built from western Macedonia, mainly Lechovo.
Today Paliouri are about a hundred houses, most of which are damaged. The first houses of the village were three floors. On the first floor there was a reception room and some other rooms in the second floor bedrooms for summer women. The skeletons of the houses were made of chestnut wood and plates of the region. Most of these buildings, as well as several two-storey buildings, damaged by earthquakes 1955-57. The promptings of engineers prefecture and the fear of residents had the effect of reducing the number of storeys of the buildings so the form of the settlement significantly altered.
The program of the municipality aims to preserve and promote the traditional settlement of Paliouri. The traditional architecture of the region is a historical and cultural monument. The long-term result of the operation will encourage the development of areas that are not highly developed and upland areas that have been neglected and not very tourist development (despite the fact that they have very rich cultural background and heritage). The program will contribute to the containment of the local population, restoration of traditional buildings and the development of employment in the region. Parallel, will help create a network of partnership between the municipalities will ultimately aim to traditional settlements. Such cooperation can simultaneously play a pivotal role for other municipalities that are not members of the network, but have historical and cultural monuments, enabling them to organize activities of common interest and cultural approach.

SESKLO

The chapel of Prophet Elias is located west of the village approximately 3 km. than. It is built on a hill like in Greece with the Prophet Elijah. According to tradition, built in 1780 with laspopetra and the roof is covered with petroplakes.
The church of St. John the Baptist is built on a hill, on the north side of the village, approximately 3 km.
