The Municipality Aisonia named by Aeson who according to legend founded the city of Thessaly Aeson, near the Sesklo. The Municipality resulted from the combination of the two neighboring communities, Diminiou and Sesklou which are only 7 and 10 km respectively from the city of Volos. Dimini is built near the industrial area of Volos and Sesklo lies on a low hill, with views of the surrounding area. The two villages are world famous for their archaeological sites. A’ these places we find the first traces of Neolithic settlements in Europe, traces the residence of people started living in organized societies (prehistory).
