Sausage festival in Stagiates

It was random selection of Stagiadon for the feast of sausage. From old Stagiates was known for two things. For nice and crystal waters and for the delicious sausages.

According to the testimony of local, around 1750 The main occupation of the villagers was the manufacture and marketing of sausage. They, so-called “Sausage”, were the only ones throughout Greece who knew so well the art and secrets for their manufacture. Using top quality products and of course the appropriate care, were manufacturing yummy sausage, which sold throughout Greece. Indeed, the author and historian John Kordatos says Stagiates years 1750 – 1850 had significant domestic crafts production and marketing sausage. With the passage of time and advancement of technology, this art declined and disappeared.

This traditional way that we wanted to revive the elders to remember and know that young people traditional sausages.
