The municipal unity (former municipality) of Artemis has a total population of 4,583 inhabitants and an area of 29 sq. Km. It is located in the eastern part of the municipality, on the slopes of Pelion .

The former municipality operated from 1999 to 2010 with headquarters in Ano Lechonia . It includes the following municipalities and settlements:
